元朝末年，封建朝廷愈加，各地農民紛紛舉旗，反抗元朝的統(tǒng)治。這時朱元璋已經領兵攻下安徽,和陽，繼續(xù)南下。
在過年那天，他與大將徐達，同乘一條小船，從長江北岸渡過長江。船主是對老，船夫知道船上坐著的是大名鼎鼎的朱元璋，便高聲喊看號子向他慶賀說：圣天子六龍護駕，大將軍八面威風。
